But in the last year UK BikeLife culture – where young scooter riders upload videos of themselves wheelie-ing down motorways and through industrial estates – has exploded, with the scene’s leaders picking up thousands of YouTube and Instagram followers in the process. These British riders are beginning to receive international attention, not least from Baltimore’s notorious dirt bike club, the 12 O’Clock Boys. Although they may lack the CCs of their American counterparts, they’ve done a good job of making up for it with charisma and a dedication to the underdog of the two-wheeled world: the humble moped. In London Bikelife, Daisy-May Hudson lets a nostalgia for the moped gangs of her teenage years get the better of her and travels to industrial estates on the outskirts of London to meet with the underground stars of the UK BikeLife scene. After spending some time at northwest London’s Ace Cafe – an iconic hangout for bikers and petrolheads – Daisy is taken along to one of the group’s big ride-outs, where hundreds of boys take over the roads with their mopeds. Quick little tour of my mopehead I rent of a company know as Wheels To Work. ! Please know this is not very detailed ! To ride a mopehead please get required training! There is much I have not mentioned and you WILL need practise riding one before you enter the road! In the UK and Ireland you will need a CBT, it will cost approx £60 to have one done. That will be your training. For other country's this training will be called different, so please do you research. Once you have your training please invest in some protective gear. Never ride one of these without a full face helmet and geans. Otherwise if you fall at any speed over 10mph you will suffer massive injures! This is not a car, not metal cage to protect you from crashes! Only the gear you ware. Also good to have a leather jacket for extra skin protection. Other channels on YouTube will give you more info on clothing you WILL need. Ok hope you have fun and please be careful!

Compulsory basic training (CBT) is a course you usually have to take before you ride a moped or motorcycle on the road. The training makes sure you can ride safely on your own while you practise for your full moped or motorcycle test. CBT is not a test that you pass or fail. After you’ve completed CBT, you can ride a: - moped if you’re 16 or over - motorcycle up to 125cc and with a power output of up to 11kW if you’re 17 or over - You must use L plates (L or D plates in Wales). You must pass your full moped or motorcycle test within 2 years, or you have to either take CBT again or stop riding. You can be fined up to £1,000 and get up to 6 penalty points for riding if you do not have a valid CBT certificate. Honda has just introduced its new MS01 electric scooter, designed in partnership with Japanese retail chain MUJI. Exclusive to the Chinese market, the model is more like a “moped” than a scooter, focusing on moving over short distances. MUJI is a supermarket chain that emphasizes minimalism and recycling. The company was responsible for the design of the MS01, while Honda took care of everything else. This includes all the structural and mechanical part of the electric scooter. MUJI design chief Kenya Hara designed the MS01 based on an old bike that was sold online. This is the origin of black and white paint with many matte parts, because in the culture of minimalism, the goal is that the colors do not strain the eyes. The MS01 has 17-inch wheels shod in tubeless tires, which according to Honda are suitable for any urban road. The 400W motor allows a maximum speed of 25 km/h. The 48V battery provides autonomy to run 65 km in electric mode only, without pedaling.
